In & Out Punches (15/4 Actual Roundings)
(Top)
- The Timekeeper will divide the hour into 15 minute increments.
- A grace period of 4 minutes will be measured forward from each 15 minute interval.
- The grace period has no impact on existing tardiness policies.
If an employee punches within the grace period, including the grace minute itself, the punch is rounded back to the previous 15 minute increment. If an employee punches after the grace period, the punch is rounded forward to the next 15 minute increment.

Lunch & Break Punches (15/4 Interval Rounding)
(Top)
- The Timekeeper system does not require special punches for lunch and break periods. The '9' and '1' lunch punches are no longer necessary.
- The time deducted for lunches and breaks will be based upon the total elapsed time the employee is "off the clock".
- A grace period of 4 minutes will be subtracted from the total elapsed time the employee is "off the clock".
If the total elapsed time between the out-punch and the in-punch for the meal or break falls within the grace period, including the grace minute itself, the total time deducted will be rounded back to the next 15 minute increment. If the total elapsed time falls outside the grace period, the deducted time will be rounded forward to the next 15 minute increment.

Overtime Punches:
(Top)
- The Timekeeper System stores a predefined number of hours per day and week for each employee. The "6" and "1" overtime punches are no longer necessary.
- When an employee works (or submits accrual time) in excess of the predefined limits, the additional hours will accrue into the pay code: Flex.
- Flex hours will not be interfaced into payroll. They will be converted into comp time, or overtime upon submission of appropriate paperwork from the department head.
