Phone Tips


These tips are for the OLD TOSHIBA phones,
they DO NOT work on the NEW AVAYA phones.


Here are some buttons you can setup and tips you can use on your phone.


Message Light Blinking, but No Voice Mail

This is if you do not have a message and your light is blinking as if you do.

To Fix:
Do not lift handset - do not press any line key.
Press [ # 4 0 9 ].
Lift handset and hangup.


CALL FORWARD ALL

Procedure to program a Call Forward All button.

To Program:
Do not lift handset - do not press any line key.
Press [ # 9 8 7 6 ].
Press the one-touch button you want to program as [ CF-ALL ].
Dial 6 0 0 0.
Press the one-touch button [ CF-ALL ] again.
Lift handset and hangup.

To activate/deactivate:
Do not lift the handset, press the one-touch button you programmed as CF-ALL. Press it again to deactivate.


SPEED DIAL

Expanded procedure to program name & number for personal speed dial.

Station Speed Dials are programmed at each individual phone … Access Codes 100 – 119.

To Program:
Do not lift handset - do not press any line key.
Press [ # 9 8 7 6 ].
Press [ SPDIAL ] button.
Dial in access code you are programming (100 to 119).
Dial 9 (if applicable), dial the entire phone number (up to 32 digits).
Press [ SPKR ] button.
Enter the name you wish to associate with the phone number, using the letters on the phone.
(example: for the letter “L”, press the “5” button three times)
Press [ SPDIAL ] button.
Lift handset and hangup.

To Call:
Press [ Personal SD ] soft key in the display of the telephone.
Press the button associated with the name/number you wish to call - the phone will then dial.

To Delete A Programmed Name/Number:
Do not lift handset - do not press any line key.
Press [ # 9 8 7 6 ].
Press [ SPDIAL ] button.
Dial in access code you are programming (100 to 119).
Press [ SPKR ] button.
Delete the entire name that is there by tapping the [ LEFT ] soft key until the name is gone.
Press [ SPDIAL ] button.
Lift handset and hangup.


CALLER ID

View and scroll through the last 10 calls received.

To Program:
Do not lift handset - do not press any line key.
Press [ # 9 8 7 6 ].
Press [ Hold ] button.
Press the one-touch button you want to program as CALLER ID.
Dial 5 8 0.
Press the one-touch button again.
Lift handset and hangup.

To view CID:
Press the one-touch button you programmed as CALLER ID.
Scroll using Volume Up and Volume Down .
Press SK2 (the 2nd Soft Key on the LCD) to toggle call number/time.


JOIN A&B

Joint 2 separate calls into 1 Conference call on INT-A.

To Program:
Do not lift handset - do not press any line key.
Press [ # 9 8 7 6 ].
Press the one-touch button you want to program as JOIN A&B.
Dial [ Hold ] * [ INT-A ] * [ Cnf/Trn ] * [ INT-B ] * [ Cnf/Trn ] * [ Cnf/Trn ] * [ INT-A ].
(You can swap [ INT-A ]'s and [ INT-B ]'s to end up on [ INT-B ] instead)
Press the one-touch button again.
Lift handset and hangup.

To join 2 calls:
When you have a call on each line ([ INT-A ] and [ INT-B ]), press the one-touch button you programmed as JOIN A&B.

You will then have both parties and yourself on [ INT-A ].


SEND 'A' TO VOICE MAIL

Send an incoming call on INT-A directly to your Voice Mail box.

To Program:
Do not lift handset - do not press any line key.
Press [ # 9 8 7 6 ].
Press the one-touch button you want to program as SEND TO VOICE MAIL.
Dial * [ INT-A ] * [ Cnf/Trn ] # 4 0 7 < Ext. No.> #.
Press the one-touch button again.
Lift handset and hangup.

To activate:
When you are not talking on the phone and a call is ringing on [ INT-A ], press the one-touch button you programmed as SEND 'A' TO VOICE MAIL.
-OR-
When you are talking on [ INT-B ] the phone and a call is ringing on [ INT-A ], press [ Hold ] then press the one-touch button you programmed as SEND 'A' TO VOICE MAIL then press [ INT-B ] to return to your call.


SEND 'B' TO VOICE MAIL

Send an incoming call on INT-B directly to your Voice Mail box and return to INT-A.

To Program:
Do not lift handset - do not press any line key.
Press [ # 9 8 7 6 ].
Press the one-touch button you want to program as SEND TO VOICE MAIL.
Dial [ Hold ] * [ INT-B ] * [ Cnf/Trn ] # 4 0 7 < Ext. No.> # * [ INT-A ].
Press the one-touch button again.
Lift handset and hangup.

To activate:
When you are talking on [ INT-A ] and a call is ringing on [ INT-B ], press the one-touch button you programmed as SEND 'B' TO VOICE MAIL.


RELEASE

Release the line you are on, it is like hanging up.

To Program:
Do not lift handset - do not press any line key.
Press [ # 9 8 7 6 ].
Press [ Hold ] button.
Press the one-touch button you want to program as RELEASE.
Dial 2 7 0.
Press the one-touch button again.
Lift handset and hangup.

To activate:
When you are on a line, press the one-touch button you programmed as RELEASE.


PAUSE

Pauses the Voice Mail Record.

To Program:
Do not lift handset - do not press any line key.
Press [ # 9 8 7 6 ].
Press [ Hold ] button.
Press the one-touch button you want to program as PAUSE [ || ].
Dial 6 4 0.
Press the one-touch button again.
Lift handset and hangup.

To activate:
When you are Recording to Voice Mail, press the one-touch button you programmed as PAUSE [ || ] to pause recording, then press PAUSE [ || ] again to continue recording.


DIAL PAD BUTTON BEEPS

Digital phones can emit a "beep" sound whenever a dial pad or feature button is pressed. The "beeps" are On by default. Follow these steps to turn the "beeps" On or Off.

To Enable/Disable:
Do not lift handset - do not press any line key.
Press [ 3+6+9+[ Hold ] (simultaneously) ].
Press 0.
Press Feature Button 1 (FB1) to toggle On/Off, FB1 is the bottom left button on the 14 key Feature Buttons on the phone.
- FB1, LED On: buttons beep.
- FB1, LED Off: buttons do not beep.
Press [ Hold ] to set the option.
Lift handset and hangup.


Two (or All) Party States:

  2. Connecticut
  3. Delaware
  4. Florida
  5. Illinois
  6. Maryland
  7. Massachusetts
  8. Michigan
  9. Montana
  10. New Hampshire
  11. Pennsylvania
  12. Washington

Calls to or from these states must have all parties consent to recording a telephone conversation.
